Please stay away from the area! The Unified Fire Authority is having a hard time keeping up with what is going on, and they don't have time to deal with the curious public. Don't become part of the problem.
Over a thousand homes were under mandatory evacuation in Herriman at peak threat. Three homes were burned.
The official name of the fire is the "Machine Gun Fire" because the fire started during a training exercise by the US military on a machine gun range. Aprox. 4300 acres burned.
